Joining with Trinity Presbyterian and Tustin PC, First Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana is able to offer homework help, free snacks, tutoring & enrichment programs to 1st - 5th graders in Santa Ana.
The mission of the program is three-fold:
1. Provide a safe place for kids, avoiding walking home to an empty house or staying out on the busy city streets
2. Guide students who may be behind in school to keep up with their studies and homework
3. Create a living witness of Christ’s love and hope for these young lives being touched by the volunteers and staff working with them
God is blessing the hearts of these kids! Their learning is improving each day!
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday
3-4:15 p.m. Drinks & Homework Help
4:15 - 4:30 p.m. Snack Time
4:30 - 5:15 p.m. Enrichment Classes
_____ Monday: "When I Grow Up..." Class on Professionals
_____ Tuesday: Computer Learning Programs
_____ Wednesday: Choir & Rhythm Class ($10/semester)
_____ Thursday: CSMHO Dance or Art Classes ($30/semester)
Volunteer Opportunities:
*Donate snacks for Snack Time
*Volunteer to give a talk on your profession
*Walk around the neighborhood, publicizing the program
*Publicize the program in your school, church or neighborhood
*Volunteer as a tutor to help during homework time
*Volunteer your time to help in the Choir or Computer Classes
*Donate an old computer to the computer Lab (or time to rehabilitate the old computers we already have)
